Hyperlink vs. Attachment
#1
You can share articles with other SMOMS by an attachment or a hyperlink. Please keep in mind when choosing your method for a post that if it is by hyperlink for a web page that the article may not be available in the future if the page has changed.

When making a hyperlink you must click on a new thread or reply. On the toolbar for your message, click on the 'insert hyperlink' (it's the 11th icon) button. A box will appear asking for the URL of the page. Just type or paste the address in. Another box will appear asking you if you'd like to have a title appear for the link. The title is optional. This will create a hyperlink for you.

If an attachment is how you choose to share your article, then you must have access to this article from your computer or network. Click to make a new thread or reply. To attach a file go to the 'Attachments' section and click on the 'Browse' button then navigate to the directory where the file is located and upload the file by clicking on the 'add attachment' button. Viewers will then be able to click on the file button to see the attached file. You can also insert the attachment as a message by clicking on the 'insert into post' button, this will make it appear like a hyperlink.

Either way, the viewer just needs to click on the attachment or hyperlink to view the article.
