Just when you think that things are going smoothly....you all know the drill. After experiencing one of my biggest SMOM challenges in 7 years, I'm sending a gentle reminder to always get things in writing. Two months ago, under a verbal agreement with bioM, my ss moved in with us (he's 15). Once the child support hearing was concluded and she realized that support was going to be eliminated, she told my ss that he was not permitted to continue living with us. When he tried to return to our home, as per the new custody schedule, she threatened arrest, police, and a whole slieu of other things. Needless to say, we were in court 24 hours later with a temporary custody order until the situation can be finalized. Gee...imagine if we would have put it in writing from the beginning. You're never too safe. Learn from my mistake!
