Invest in caller id. When your skids' mother calls, look at id and give phone to child. If child is not around, let it go to voicemail. My husband & I have agreed that he checks voicemail at home if the ex has left a message. This removes me from the equation. This became necessary when the ex was rude to me and/or accused me of being rude to her. By eliminating contact with her whenever possible, I have eliminated the opportunity for any misunderstandings or of being falsely accused.
